Baked Halibut

This is an extremely simple dish. It has a very subtle taste, which I usually serve with roasted vegetables to give it a little bit more flavor. But I like the soft taste of this fish, and the texture is almost like eating butter!

Obviously there are many ways of preparing this fish, but this is one of my favorite, and it is so easy and such a simple dish!!

Ingredients:

  • Halibut fillets
  • Sliced garlic
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper

Preparation:

Put some olive oil in the bottom of an oven tray and put the fish fillets on top. Spread the garlic slices over it and add a trickle of olive oil, salt and pepper.

I usually cover it with aluminum foil to ensure it stays moist. Put in the oven at 200ºC for about 25 minutes. If you don´t want a lot of liquid, cover with the aluminum foil for just half the time and then uncover for the rest of the cooking time.

Serve with rice, roasted vegetables, baked potato and green beans (you could put them on the same tray and cook together), sweet potato, a salad… Take your pick!
